An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was killed in a collision in Webster early Saturday morning, authorities said.
Emergency crews responding to a report of a crash involving a pedestrian in the area of 126 Lake Street found a dead person in the road around 12:30 p.m., according to the Worcester District Attorney’s Office.
The victim, whose name has not been released, had “injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” the district attorney’s office said.
During the initial investigation, police found a car with “visible accident damage” in a nearby neighborhood,” the officer’s office added.
No charges or arrests have been made in connection with the crash.
Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office are assisting the Webster Police Department with the investigation.
