Donald Trump continues to call for violence against the press and Nancy Pelosi thinks she knows why.
In an interview on “Inside with Jen Psaki,” the former Speaker of the House of Representatives said Trump’s rhetoric is “further indicative of cognitive generation.”
At a rally in Pennsylvania on Sunday, Trump joked about the bulletproof glass surrounding his podium. The panels were established by the Secret Service after two failed assassination attempts on the former president.
He pointed to three sides and then noticed that there was an area where he was not behind glass. Pointing to the nearby media branch, he noted that any potential killer would have to “shoot through” the journalists to catch him.
“All we really have here is fake news, right? And to get me, someone would have to cut through the fake news,” Trump said. “And I don’t mind that so much.”
In her interview with Psaki, Pelosi said Trump’s comments were the sign of a man in decline.
“Something is very wrong there,” she said. “I think people who are thinking about voting for him should know that he won’t be able to last four years as president if his brain deteriorates to the extent that it is clearly visible, and that they might vote for President Vance, which is a terrible thing for our country.”
