Nov. 26—ANDERSON — A Pendleton man received a four-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography.
Payton Alexander Weisse, 20, was arrested this year following an investigation by the Hamilton County Metro Child Exploitation Task Force.
Madison Circuit Court Division 4 Judge David Happe sentenced Weisse on Tuesday to four years, including two years on home confinement and two years on formal probation. He must also register as a sex offender for life.
The state’s case was presented by Deputy District Attorney Dan Kopp.
In a plea deal, Weisse admitted to possessing 567 images of pornography involving children under the age of 12.
Weisse had recently moved to Pendleton from Noblesville.
Detective Greg Loveall of the Carmel Police Department wrote in a probable cause affidavit that he received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in February.
During an interview, Weisse admitted to downloading and viewing child pornography.
He admitted to being “kind of a porn addict” and said it led to more strange things.
