Pennsylvania resident finds ‘significant amount’ of hidden cocaine while doing yard work

LOWER SWATARA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) – A Pennsylvania resident unearthed a “significant quantity” of cocaine while working in the yard, police in Dauphin County said.

Lower Swatara Township police said they were called to a home on Riverview Drive on Saturday around 7:30 p.m. for reports of a suspicious item being found.

When police arrived on scene, they spoke to a resident who was working in the garden. While they were working, they found a ‘suspicious item’, which the police took away for testing.

Police said they later learned and confirmed through testing that the item was a “significant quantity” of cocaine packaged for sale.

Investigators entered the item into evidence and police said a case has been opened.

Police provided no further details or speculated on how the cocaine got there or how long it had been buried.
