Person hospitalized after argument led to shooting at Azle home, police say

Authorities are investigating a shooting that Azle police say stemmed from an argument on Tuesday, according to a news release.

At noon Tuesday, Azle Police received a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 100 block of Richard Lane. The caller reported being shot in the chest by a family member.

Officers arrived on scene and found both the victim and a suspect outside a home.

The suspect was arrested without incident.

Medics from the Azle Fire Department transported the victim to a local hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, the news release said.

The investigation showed that it was an isolated incident and that there was no direct threat to the public, police say. The shooting took place inside the home after an argument between the suspect and the victim.

Police said other family members, including a small child, were also in the home at the time of the shooting.

This is an ongoing investigation.
