One person was injured after jumping from the second floor of an apartment building that was on fire in Westlake on Sunday.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire was reported just before 11:30 a.m. at a four-story apartment building in the 100 block of S. Reno Street.

It took 50 firefighters just over half an hour to extinguish the flames, which they said started in the second-floor hallway before spreading to the third floor.

Crews say multiple units were damaged by the fire, but did not have exact numbers at the time of reporting.

One person was assessed at the scene after jumping from the second floor of the building while it was on fire, the LAFD statement said. No other injuries were reported.
