Police in Petaluma arrested a man this week for possession of child pornography, authorities said Friday.

Police and the Northern California Computer Crimes Task Force searched the home of 40-year-old Hugo Barajas on June 4.

Acting on a tip, police obtained a search warrant at the Petaluma resident’s home. During the operation, Barajas’ electronic devices were seized.

Detectives arrested Barajas later Wednesday at the Petaluma Police Department after police developed probable cause that the man was in possession of obscene material.

The man is now being held in the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of possession of obscene material involving a minor.

Anyone with information about the case can contact police at (707) 778-4444.
