Police are looking for a person of interest in connection with a series of commercial gun robberies in North and Northeast Philadelphia.
Police say most of the robberies took place between 6pm and 8pm and followed the same procedure.
The suspect approached the business’ cash register with an item as if he intended to purchase it and offered money to pay for the item. But as soon as the employee opened the register, the man stated he was robbing the business and demanded money from the cashier, police said.
The Philadelphia Police Department is actively investigating the following commercial robberies:
- September 21, 2024, 6:25 PM – 1200 East Erie Avenue
- September 21, 2024, 6:50 PM – 8400 Frankford Avenue (Attempted Robbery)
- September 21, 2024, 7:13 PM – 5800 Torresdale Avenue
- September 28, 2024, 7:50 PM – 400 Castor Avenue
- October 17, 2024, 8:05 PM – 6600 Roosevelt Boulevard
- October 17, 2024, 8:20 PM – 6300 Roosevelt Boulevard
- October 24, 2024, 12:12 PM –7300 Oxford Avenue
- October 24, 2024, 5:31 PM – 6600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard
According to police, the person in question is described as a man with a medium to heavy build, somewhere between 35 and 45 years old. Police add that the suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
