GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office conducted an online sex trafficking operation that resulted in six arrests. One of the arrested men appeared in court Friday.
Phillip Holt, 45, was charged with sexual exploitation of a child via the internet and appeared in a Mesa County courtroom Friday for a bond hearing.
Holt’s attorney asked for bail to be reduced from $50,000 to approximately $1,500. His lawyer also requested a PR bond for an ongoing case he has for trespassing.
The defense argued that while Holt has ties to the community, his record of 15 failures to appear, 12 of which have come in the last five years, makes him unreliable and increases his risk of flight.
Holt will appear in court again in July.
