CHICAGO (CBS) — This weekend’s weather pattern will be split. It starts out nice, but then ends up wet.
Dry conditions with beautiful sunny skies are expected in Chicago on Saturday, followed by heavy rain on Sunday.
Highs on Saturday will warm into the lower 60s, with lakeside communities slightly cooler and temperatures highs in the mid to upper 50s. Saturday night skies will remain partly cloudy, with low temperatures reaching the 40s.
Remember, we’re “falling back” tonight when Daylight Savings Time ends. Make sure the clock changes from 2am to 1am
Isolated showers may develop from Sunday onwards, but rain chances will increase and rain will become more widespread during the afternoon. Periods of rain are expected from Sunday to Tuesday morning.
During that time, our western suburbs could see more than 3 inches of rain. For NW Indiana, an accumulation of 1 to 2 inches of precipitation appears likely. With so much rain on the way, flooding will be a major concern, so plan for some messy commutes, especially on Monday and Tuesday.
