Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal crash that occurred in early December in the Westlake area.

According to Los Angeles Police, it happened in an alley west of Westlake Avenue and north of Wilshire Boulevard around 11 p.m.

“A silver Nissan Sentra, possibly between 2007 and 2012, was traveling southbound through the alley when it struck the pedestrian,” the LAPD statement said. “The driver of the Nissan Sentra failed to stop, identify himself or render assistance as required by law.”

The pedestrian, still unidentified, was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

In hopes of locating the driver, police have released surveillance images of the car driving through the alley the night of the crash.

The city of Los Angeles is offering a fixed reward of $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the driver.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (213) 833-3713.
