Police are searching for a robber who targeted stores on Chicago’s North Side

CHICAGO (CBS) — Police issued a community alert Thursday about a series of armed robberies at small stores on the city’s north side.

In each incident, someone walked into a store, approached the victims and demanded money. The robber appears to have a gun in his jacket, police said.

The robberies took place at the following times and locations:

  • 7:06 PM Wednesday, October 2 in the 1900 block of West Peterson Avenue, West Ridge.
  • 4:37 a.m. Tuesday, October 8 in the 6300 block of North Clark Street, Rogers Park/Edgewater.
  • 11:00 PM Tuesday, October 8 in the 4800 block of North Ashland Avenue, Winnemac/Ravenswood.
  • 9:12 PM Wednesday, October 16, again in the 1900 block of West Peterson Avenue.
  • 7:27 PM Friday, October 18 in the 2100 block of West Devon Avenue, West Ridge.

The robber was a man wearing black trousers, a black jacket and on several occasions a light blue knitted cap.
