Los Angeles Police Department detectives hope to identify and find a man who allegedly molested an 11-year-old girl and tried to kidnap her as she walked down a Wilmington street in the middle of the day.
On Monday around 3:15 p.m., police say the girl was walking near M Street and Gulf Avenue when a man between the ages of 20 and 30 came up behind her, harassed her and tried to carry her away.
Local residents saw what was happening and intervened, causing the man to drive away. The man is said to be about 6 feet tall, weighing about 240 pounds and driving a gray Nissan Kicks with a spare tire on the rear passenger side.
