Police pulled a broken-down car from a canal in Plantation on Sunday and said they found the body of a missing man inside.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office dive team and personnel from the Broward Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene Sunday afternoon at 10151 SW First St.
Plantation Police Detective Robert Rettig said the department had been looking for the man for “years” and had been warned he was suicidal. He did not know exactly how long the department had been looking for him and did not have any further information on the make or model of the vehicle.
Rettig said he had received information that a second car had been pulled from the water in Plantation on Sunday, but he said he had no further details.
