Police looking for man in connection with weekend theft

Kokomo police are asking the public to help identify and locate a man who allegedly urinated on several items of clothing at Old Navy last week.

The incident took place on Saturday, according to a press release from the KPD.

Then a complainant reported to police that a man entered the store and grabbed a shopping cart, the press release said.

The man then put several items of clothing in a bag and walked to the restroom, investigators said in the press release, but the restrooms were reportedly occupied at the time.

Witnesses told police the man then grabbed several pairs of pants from a clothes rack, placed them on the floor and began urinating on them, the press release said.

After someone in the store confronted him, the man grabbed the pants from the floor, along with the clothes he had put in the bag, and walked out of the store without paying, according to police.

Investigators captured the person they believe was involved in the incident on a store camera.

The press release describes him as a black male, possibly in his 40s or 50s, wearing a black hat, black Nike shirt, light-colored jeans and white shoes.

If you have any information on the whereabouts or identity of this man, you are asked to contact the KPD Helpline at 765-456-7017. You can also submit tips anonymously by calling Central Indiana Crime Stoppers at 1-800-262-TIPS, downloading the “Kokomo PD” mobile app, or texting TIPKPD to 847411.
