POLICE NEWS: Middlebury injured in crash

Nov. 11—A Middlebury woman was hospitalized Saturday after an accident on Ind. 120.

According to Elkhart County deputies, Austin Fergison, 35, of Goshen, was traveling east on Ind. at 8:02 p.m. 120 and prepared to move north to Ind. 13 in a 2006 Ford F-150 when police say he failed to yield the right of way and collided with a 2012 GMC Sierra driven by Cassandra Wagner, 28, of Middlebury, who was traveling westbound on Ind. 120 at the intersection.

Wagner was transported to Goshen Hospital complaining of chest pain.

HIT-AND-RUN

Leslie Sanchez, 24, of Goshen, reported to Goshen police at 11:43 a.m. Sunday that someone had crashed into her vehicle and left the scene at Dunkin’ Donuts, 906 W. Pike St.

ARRESTS

– A 41-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police Friday at 3:40 p.m. on charges of public intoxication and possession of cocaine after a report that he fell off his bicycle and appeared to have a seizure in Rogers Park, on Chicago Ave.

– A 36-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 12:32 a.m. Saturday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a traffic stop near West Plymouth Avenue and Indiana Avenue.

– A 20-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 12:47 a.m. Saturday on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and illegally consuming an alcoholic beverage following a traffic stop near Lincoln Avenue and Chicago Avenue for traffic violations.

– A 24-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 2:13 a.m. Saturday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated after being pulled over for equipment violation near Elkhart and Bashor roads.

– A 16-year-old boy was arrested by Goshen police and released to his parents. Police received a report of a vehicle driving recklessly without any lights on on Saturday at 9:07 p.m. Police found the vehicle near North Eighth Street and Center Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop for violations, but the vehicle led them on a short pursuit. The teenager was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license and resisting police.

– A 23-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Goshen police at 2:44 a.m. Sunday on a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with priors after police conducted a traffic stop in the 2100 block of Elkhart Road for multiple traffic violations .

CRIMINAL recklessness

A 41-year-old man reported to Goshen police Friday at 4:41 p.m. that a person he knew pointed a gun at him in the 600 block of North Second Street.

CRIMINAL ILLEGAL

A 46-year-old woman reported to Goshen police at 10:26 a.m. Sunday that someone she knew had damaged her vehicles in Brookside Manor.

THEFT

– A 54-year-old man reported the theft of his wallet from Ed’s Lock & Key, 1922 Elkhart Road, to Goshen police at 11:48 a.m. Friday.

– A 28-year-old woman reported to Goshen police Saturday at 10:50 p.m. that her wallet was stolen from her car at the Comfort Inn, 2309 Lincolnway East.
