PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities in Philadelphia will provide an update Friday on the investigation into the Murder in May 2018 of 17-year-old Sandrea Williams.

Mayor Cherelle Parker will join District Attorney Larry Krasner, First Deputy Police Commissioner John Stanford and Williams’ family members at 2:30 p.m.

Officials did not say what the update would be, but a Philadelphia police website lists Williams’ murder as solved.

Williams and two teenage boys were shot in the 300 block of North Simpson Street on Friday, May 11, 2018, according to police.

Police said two gunmen fired 23 shots, hitting the two boys and killing Williams. Williams was shot in the neck, leg and back while standing in the driveway with her 17-year-old boyfriend. A 15-year-old boy standing on the street was also shot. Both teenage boys were injured in the shooting.

Investigators said at the time they did not know who the intended target was, but they believed the threefold the shooting was related to a dispute between children. Police claimed the two alleged shooters were teenagers.

Police said at least six children were present when the two suspected gunmen fired at the group.

Williams was shot and killed after walking away from her stairs where she was sitting with her mother, police said.

“Her mother looked so blank, like she was in pure shock,” a neighbor told CBS News Philadelphia in 2018.
