A suspect in the shooting led police on a chase through Hollywood Thursday evening.
Los Angeles police gave chase and suspected the suspect was armed. Investigators said the suspect shot at two people near Echo Park. It is unclear whether anyone was injured.
The suspect started on the US-101 Freeway near Hollywood and continued north. It eventually merged onto the CA-170 Freeway and continued north through North Hollywood and the rest of the San Fernando Valley.
She exited the highway in Sun Valley and continued to slowly elude police. After walking around the neighborhood, she turned onto the I-5 Freeway North.
The LAPD gave up the pursuit to the California Highway Patrol as the woman drove through Newhall. With an empty highway, the officer used a spike strip that punctured the driver’s tires.
