Police release identity of body found near St. Cloud’s Tech High School

ST. CLOUD — Police on Wednesday released the identity of a body found near St. Cloud’s Tech High School. Officials found the body Monday when St. Cloud Fire Department responded to a nearby grass fire.

The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Mohamed Mustaf Mohamud of St. Cloud, according to a news release. Officials determined that Mohamud died as a result of the fire, with no “foul play” suspected, according to a news release.

The St. Cloud Police Department received assistance from the St. Cloud Fire Department, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Midwest Coroner’s Office.

St. Cloud Police Chief Jeffery Oxton did not respond to questions from the St. Cloud Times.
