Police have released surveillance footage of a May collision that left a pedestrian seriously injured.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. on May 15, when a 41-year-old man was crossing the intersection of 65th Place and Western Avenue in the Harvard Park neighborhood of South Los Angeles, Los Angeles police said.

He was hit by the driver of a black sedan almost immediately after entering the street. Instead of stopping, the driver drove on, leaving the pedestrian lying in the road.

Investigators say the driver’s mirror found at the crime scene may match a 2016-2022 Chevrolet Malibu.

The victim, who has not yet been identified, was rushed to a hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics for serious injuries. His current status is unknown.

As with all hit-and-run collisions in the city of Los Angeles, a fixed reward may be offered for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect.
