November 27 – ARREST

A Falls man was arrested at 4:30 a.m. Thursday after a robbery in the 300 block of Sixth Street. Michael P. McCarthy, 30, 770 15th St., Upper, was charged with first-degree robbery and fourth-degree grand larceny. A male victim told police he met McCarthy earlier in the evening and “hanged out with him” at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino. The victim said when he and McCarthy left the casino, McCarthy threatened him with what appeared to be a concealed weapon and demanded money. After giving McCarthy cash, a voucher and a cell phone, the victim said he ran back to the casino. Officers later found McCarthy in the casino parking lot.

ARREST

A Falls man was arrested on narcotics charges following an investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force. The 35-year-old man was charged with three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance/intent to sell and three counts of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.

ARREST

A Falls man was arrested Saturday at 1:40 p.m. after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 1500 block of Military Road. The 23-year-old man was charged with petit larceny. He is accused of taking more than $22 worth of beer without paying for it.

ARREST

A Grand Island teen was arrested Saturday at 5:14 p.m. after a reported robbery in the 1900 block of Ferry Avenue. The 18-year-old was charged with first- and second-degree robbery, third-degree menacing and second-degree harassment. A male victim told officers that the teen and two other male suspects approached him and attempted to rob him before punching him in the face and fleeing the scene.
