Police are searching for more victims of a man suspected of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl after convincing her to meet him at a Riverside park in April.
Anthony Eduardo Lozano, 21, has been charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a minor and contacting a minor to commit a sexual offense. He was also charged with two counts of indecent acts with a child and one count each of arranging to meet a minor for an unlawful purpose, attempting to use a child to produce obscene matter and possession of child pornography, according to Riverside County Superior Court.
He previously pleaded not guilty in September during a arraignment, after which the judge scheduled a settlement conference for Oct. 15, prosecutors said.
Lozano remains in custody and is being held without bail.
He is accused of communicating with a 12-year-old Los Angeles girl in April, possibly through social media, according to the Riverside Police Department. They say he persuaded her to meet him at Rutland Park in Riverside and arranged for a taxi service to take her from her home to the meeting location.
“The suspect met the victim and sexually abused her,” police said.
After the incident, the girl went home and reported the alleged abuse to the Los Angeles Police Department, which began a months-long investigation.
According to the RPD, detectives were able to identify Lozano as a suspect and served an arrest warrant at his Randolph Street home in August.
During the arrest warrant, they also found evidence that Lozano likely had contact with other young girls who may have been his victims, police said.
