Port Vue police are investigating multiple burglaries at two abandoned businesses

Port Vue police are investigating a series of burglaries at two abandoned businesses.

Police say they first learned that a burglary had occurred earlier this week at the former Dollar General and an adjacent business at 1515 Washington Boulevard. They believe the first burglary occurred between September 22 and 25.

A large amount of copper pipes and electrical wiring were removed from the inside.

Police say they received reports of a second burglary on Friday.

Officers say the building has suffered extensive damage because a lot of material has been stolen.

Detectives from the Allegheny County Police Department have been called in to assist in the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call Port Vue police at 412-672-2255. Tips can be left anonymously.
