Parts of the Bay Area could see power shutoffs Monday to protect against wildfires, PG&E said Sunday.
The reason for the possible closures is due to a heat wave that will hit the region. The heat wave will produce temperatures in the triple digits and a heat advisory is in effect.
According to the National Weather Service, inland temperatures will reach 105 degrees, and coastal areas will see temperatures as high as 93 degrees.
The heat advisory applies from Monday 11 a.m. to Wednesday 11 p.m.
According to PG&E, power will likely be turned off in the following counties.
- Alameda
- Butte
- Colusa
- Against Costa
- Glenn
- Humboldt
- Napa
- Shasta
- Sonoma
- Tehama
- Trinity
There is an additional power shutoff warning for Tuesday, PG&E said. The same provinces will be affected.
