Predictions for the first round of the College Football Playoff and what Diego Pavia’s eligibility case means

Just before the College Football Playoff kicks off, SI’s Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger and Forde give a final preview of the 12-team bracket. They discuss the potential for five to six different teams to have a chance to win the national championship and share their betting odds for each game.

In addition to the playoff preview, they cover Alabama athletics director Greg Byrne’s efforts to encourage the Alabama fan base to contribute more money to their NIL initiatives to remain competitive in the evolving college football landscape. They also emphasize the importance of Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia having one year of eligibility remaining due to his career that began at a junior college.
