Preston Fire is nearing full containment after burning 27 acres north of Cloverdale

Firefighters have contained 80% of the wildfire that broke out north of Cloverdale on Tuesday afternoon, according to Cal Fire.

The Preston Fire started on the east side of Geysers Road near Preston Drive on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. In its update on the fire around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, Cal Fire said the fire reached 27 acres as forward progress halted.

There have been no reports of injuries as a result of the wildfire.

The fire department says they are investigating the cause of the fire.
