Projectile from Yemen strikes near Tel Aviv, injuring more than a dozen officials

A projectile fired into Israel from Yemen on Saturday night struck Tel Aviv, causing minor injuries to 16 people, according to Israeli officials.

The Israeli military said after sirens sounded in central Israel that the projectile had landed in Tel Aviv’s southern Jaffa area after failed interception attempts.

“Following the sirens that sounded recently in central Israel, one projectile launched from Yemen was identified and unsuccessful interception attempts were made,” the army said on Telegram.

On Thursday, the Israeli military said it had intercepted a rocket launched from Yemen, sending shrapnel causing extensive damage to a school near Tel Aviv.
