If you love Halloween and the art of pumpkin carving, tune in to Food Network on September 29, when former Westchester and Dutchess County resident — and acclaimed pumpkin carver — Deane Arnold will be a judge on the first “all-star” season of “Outrageous Pumpkins.”
Known for his quirky, hyper-realistic designs, Arnold, who lived in Armonk and White Plains until the fourth grade before moving to LaGrangeville, will help determine which team of skilled wood carvers can beat out the competition (pun intended) and win the $50,000 grand prize.
Arnold, who now lives in Columbus, Ohio, has long been a prominent figure in the elite world of pumpkin carving. He has spent years helping seasoned professionals hone their own carving skills. In fact, many of the contestants on Food Network’s “Halloween Wars” and “Outrageous Pumpkins” have taken his master classes.

He told The Journal News/lohud that the production company good-naturedly gave him the unofficial title of “Pumpkin Artist in Residence” based on his previous experiences.
