Qantas responds to the holiday atmosphere with festive aircraft colors, special menus on board and a new beer offering. The airline is about to experience one of its busiest seasons ever, with millions of people taking to the skies aboard Australia’s national carrier. Every flight will be a true Christmas celebration, with unique offers.
‘Dasher-8’ and ‘Rudolph’ are on the air
Qantas painted two aircraft to match the holiday spirit, with a Q400 sporting a “Dasher-8” scheme and a 737 named “Rudolph”. Those who fly these planes will earn double points in a special promotion. In addition, an A321 freighter with the ‘Santa’s Freight’ livery will transport thousands of presents across the country.
Revamped seasonal and onboard menus feature the best of Australian producers, including Glacier 51 Toothfish, Wollemi DuckMargra Lamb, Coppertree Farms Butter and Skull Island Tiger Prawns. Also included are new beer offerings, consisting of James Squire ginger ale and local independent beers such as Straddie Amity Pale Ale in Brisbane, Bentspoke Crankshaft IPA in Canberra, Hawke’s lager in Sydney, Gage Roads Single Fin Summer Ale in Perth and Stomping Ground Big Sky Hazy in Melbourne . Old favorites Stone and Wood and Cooper’s Pale Ale are available on board and in the lounge.
Qantas Group Chief Customer and Digital Officer Catriona Larritt said: “We know our customers, especially the youngest, love flying on our special festive aircraft, which is why we’re excited to have them return in 2024. “Our teams have been working hard for several months to prepare our operations so we are ready to help millions of customers see their family and friends this holiday season.”
