Red Bluff resident is facing a drug abuse charge

A 66-year-old Red Bluff man is facing a drug charge after being stopped by a police officer for a traffic violation on Dec. 22.

Red Bluff Police Officer Phil Johnston conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Ford SUV on David Avenue in Red Bluff around 12:19 a.m.

While making contact with the driver, Kenneth White, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, the officer reportedly saw drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle.

When additional officers arrived on scene to assist, a probable cause search of White and the vehicle took place.

During the search, the officer allegedly found approximately one-half ounce of methamphetamine in the vehicle, along with evidence that methamphetamine was for sale.

White, a convicted felon for possession of a “hard drug,” was arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance for sale, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, driving a suspended driver’s license and an arrest warrant.
