Redemption Rewind: A championship parade that no rain could spoil

It’s been two months since the Florida Panthers held their first championship parade in franchise history.

The rain caused much of the afternoon festivities to be lost, but you couldn’t tell by the amount of fun everyone seemed to be having.

It was six days after the Panthers defeated Edmonton in Game 7 at Amerant Bank Arena.

The team celebrated the Stanley Cup victory in the days following its victory at various locations in South Florida, from nightclubs and restaurants to beach bars and even the Atlantic Ocean.

When the day of the parade arrived, fans lined up along the planned route along Fort Lauderdale Beach hours before the parade was scheduled to begin.

What started out as a beautiful Sunday morning weather deteriorated as the parade began, but the rain didn’t seem to bother anyone, not even the Panthers players.

By the time everyone was on stage, everyone was in a party mood. The speeches were spectacular.
