Report: Former Sabers Forward Gets Shopped

Things are going terribly for the New York Rangers as they have lost 11 of their last 14 games. Due to their issues, they have already traded Jacob Trouba and Kaapo Kakko, and more moves are expected to happen as they continue their roster moves. A former Buffalo Sabers forward could be one of the next Rangers.

According to Arthur Staple of The Athletic, a source said the New York Rangers have been shopping former Sabers forward Jimmy Vesey since late November.

It’s not surprising to hear that the Rangers have made Vesey available. The 31-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent and could be a good option for clubs looking to improve their bottom six.

Vesey has had a quiet start to this season, with two goals and one assist in seventeen games so far. However, this past season he scored 13 goals and 26 points in 80 games with the Rangers, so he has the potential to provide more offense.

Vesey spent the 2019-2020 season as a member of the Sabers, where he posted nine goals, 20 points and a plus-12 rating in 64 games.
