According to Kaplan, the other three teams in the mix for Trouba are the Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators and Columbus Blue Jackets.
Among the teams I’ve heard of that have spoken to the NYR about Jacob Trouba include Detroit, Ottawa, Buffalo and Columbus.
We’ll see what happens today, but Trouba has known for a while that this was a big possibility. Crazy to see it happen like this.

The Sabers have been linked to Trouba in the past and it’s clear they could use an upgrade on the right side of their defense. They also have the cap space to handle Trouba’s $8 million cap hit.
Trouba has a 15-team no-trade list, so he has a say in where he ends up. However, according to NHL insider Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers will part with Trouba if he doesn’t accept a trade.
Trouba, 30, played in 24 games this season, recording six assists, 39 goals and a minus-3 rating.
