Residents of Zelionople could see changes in the water supply during routine maintenance

Zelienople residents may experience changes in their drinking water until the end of July.

The City of Beaver Falls is replacing disinfectants during routine maintenance flushes of their distribution system. During the flushing period, chlorine will be used as the primary disinfectant instead of the chloramines that are typically used. During this period, residents may experience discolored water and/or a noticeable chlorine smell in the water.

Anyone with discolored water should run the cold tap for several minutes until the water is clear.

The chlorine smell will only disappear if the water board starts disinfecting with chloramine again after the system flush.

Questions can be directed to the Zelienople Water Department at 724-452-6610.
