KANSAS CITY, Kansas. — Ross Chastain earned his first win of the season and fifth of his Cup career on Sunday at Kansas Speedway.
Runner-up William Byron moved to the top of the playoff standings. Byron also won a stage and collected 17 stage points in the race.

Martin Truex Jr., looking for his first win of the season, finished third. Ryan Blaney finished fourth. Ty Gibbs rounded out the top five.
Chase Elliott finished ninth and Joey Logano was 14th. They occupy the last transfer spots with two races to go in this round.
Those below the cut line are Tyler Reddick (-4 points), Daniel Suarez (-10), Chase Briscoe (-25) and Austin Cindric (-29).
The races at Talladega (October 6) and the Charlotte Roval (October 13) will remain in this round.
