Richmond police say they will then increase the number of officers on patrol three people were shot dead in two separate cases this week.

Police say they responded to the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived to find one victim with gunshot wounds, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional victims arrived at a hospital for treatment, one of whom also died from their injuries. Police said Thursday that the two remaining victims were in stable condition and expected to survive.

On Wednesday, at 12:42 a.m., police responded to another report of a shooting in the 1300 block of Kelsey Street.

Officers found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds, who died at the scene.
