Road rage turns into violent shooting on I-5 in Lane County

A Washington man was arrested Thursday in Lane County for shooting at a car while driving on Interstate 5 at mile marker 197 south of Armitage County Park.

According to Oregon State Police, the complainant was involved in a road rage incident when the driver of a white Mazda SUV brandished a firearm and fired it at the victim’s car before fleeing south on I-5.

With the assistance of the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies located the Mazda and the driver, identified as Evgenii Denisov, 21, was arrested.

Denisov was arraigned Friday in Lane County District Court on one count of second-degree criminal damage, three counts of menacing and three counts of recklessly endangering another person.
