Robbery suspect arrested for theft with knife

On Wednesday around 3:20 p.m., police responded to a call of an armed robbery at a QFC in Tacoma.

Police say loss prevention attempted to stop the suspect from stealing before the suspect pulled a knife from his waistband.

The store employee backed away and the suspect left.

The employee told police that the thief had taken several yellow jugs of laundry detergent.

The police questioned people in the area and obtained sufficient information about the direction in which the suspect went.

The suspect was soon located and arrested on a curb on 88th Street, west of Pacific Avenue.

The police took the knife and stolen items as evidence.
