Rupert Murdoch’s three adult children will retain control of their father’s media empire after his death, despite Murdoch launching a campaign to take away their power and give everything to his eldest son.
The New York Times reported on Murdoch’s loss, citing a sealed court ruling filed Saturday. The family battle took place away from the public eye, despite media efforts to gain access to the trial.
Murdoch sued three of his adult children, James, Elisabeth and Prudence, as he sought to completely strip their voting rights over the trust Murdoch created. Murdoch wanted to give Lachlan, his eldest son and most like-minded son, full control of the media companies.
