Russia launched more than 200 missiles and drones at Ukrainian infrastructure: Zelensky

On Sunday, Russia launched a drone and missile attack on Ukraine in what is seen as the largest barrage in recent months, officials said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky posted on the social platform

Zelensky said Russia attacked its infrastructure in Rivne, Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn and Odessa.

“Russian terrorists are again trying to intimidate us with cold and blackouts, repeating their actions and trying to get results from them,” he wrote.

The attack came as Russia continued its attacks on Ukrainian power generation and infrastructure ahead of winter.

The Ukrainian defense shot down 144 of the 210 air targets.

Zelensky said a drone strike killed two people and injured six others, including two children. Two more were killed in the Odesa region, The Associated Press reported.

“The whole world sees and knows that we are defending ourselves against absolute evil, which understands no other language than violence,” Zelensky wrote. “We need unity, the world needs unity. Only together can we stop this evil.”

The war in the region is approaching the three-year mark. Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, and although Zelensky is pushing for ceasefire negotiations, the outlook is bleak.
