Ryan Lindgren is back practicing with the New York Rangers and we may have an idea of what type of upper body injury he suffered.
After battling Scott Mayfield in the preseason, Lindgren suffered an apparent upper-body injury and was quickly listed as week-to-week.
Now Lindgren is nearing a return, and Mollie Walker of the New York Post reported that he wore a full face mask during practice today.
This is an indication that Lindgren likely suffered a facial injury during his fight with Mayfield.
The 26-year-old defenseman was placed on injured reserve while his timeline for his return is still unknown, but the fact that he is already practicing with the team is certainly a positive sign that he will be back sooner rather than later.
This past season, Lindgren recorded three goals, 14 assists and 17 points in 76 games while averaging 19:21 minutes.
