Unless it’s a Hyundai commercial, Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk doesn’t like to stand behind anyone. Now he happily does so every year on his birthday, which he now shares with his newborn child.
Yesterday, on Tkachuk’s 25th birthday, he and his wife Emma became parents for the first time, and they announced the news on Instagram today with the following caption: Ryder Keith Tkachuk, our entire world. ❤️ September 16, 2024, 9 lbs, 5 oz.
The Sens re-posted the photo to X.
The middle name, of course, honors the proud new grandfather, Keith, who played 18 years in the NHL. But let’s be honest. As big Seinfeld fans, we were secretly hoping the name would be “Seven,” after Brady and Keith’s famous jersey number.
Given the Tkachuk family’s high-end hockey skills, the newcomer has the natural bloodlines to become a player one day. But Ryder is already a formidable, attentive teammate, arriving just in time for Dad to attend most, if not all, of the Senators’ training camp, which begins tomorrow.
Ferda. Or in this case, Fer Dad.
Congratulations and digital cigars to the Tkachuk family from everyone here at The Hockey News Ottawa.
