Sabers looking to make a huge splash

On the latest episode of TSN Insider Trading, NHL insider Darren Dreger shared that Buffalo Sabers general manager Kevyn Adams is open to making a big move to improve the club’s roster.

This is what Dreger said about this:

“Yes, Adams is willing to consider something bigger, but he doesn’t want to trade away his top young NHL talents.”

It is understandable that Adams is now open to a big move. Looking at their group, there’s no doubt they could use another proven top-six winger and a solid right-shot defender.

Plus, it’s understandable that Adams doesn’t want to part ways with one of his key young NHL-caliber players. The Sabers are currently trying to break a thirteen-year playoff drought, so trading a key NHL piece just doesn’t make sense for them right now.

The Sabers have a solid prospect pool and draft picks to work with to make a potential splash. It will be intriguing to see if they do that from here.
