Sacramento police found an unconscious woman downtown Saturday evening after she was allegedly assaulted.
Police responded to the 1200 block of 17th Street around 6:30 p.m. after receiving reports of an unconscious woman, Officer Anthony Gamble said.
Emergency workers took the woman to an area hospital, where she remained in critical but stable condition Saturday evening, Gamble said. Based on witness information, officers believe the woman was attacked before police found her unconscious, he said.
“This is still very early and our officers are investigating what happened,” Gamble said.
Police have not arrested anyone in connection with the incident.
