San Francisco police said Wednesday they have arrested a man suspected of attacking two seniors.

On Tuesday, a 90-year-old man was riding a Muni bus near Bryant and 3rd streets when a man “attacked and assaulted” him. Police say the suspect punched and kicked the 90-year-old several times as he fell to the ground.

The 90-year-old was seriously injured and police say he was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The first attack occurred around 10:20 am and a second attack was reported about two hours later. Police said witnesses reported that a 68-year-old man using a walker was pushed to the ground in Hallidie Plaza, near Cyril Magnin and Eddy streets.

According to police, the victim hit his head on the ground when he fell. He was taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police said officers spotted a man matching the suspect’s description shortly afterward in UN Plaza. The suspect was arrested after a short chase and police identified him as 27-year-old Jahad Antoine.
