San Jose civil rights leader Jethroe Moore has died

(KRON) – San Jose civil rights leader Jethroe Moore has died San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP announced on Thursday.

The NAACP described Moore as “one of the most impactful community leaders” in the South Bay over the past decade. He served as president of the San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP chapter and as vice president of the California/Hawaii State NAACP.

“His presence can never be replaced, and he will be deeply missed,” said San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP Vice President Sean Allen.

Moore was a recognized and ordained reverend and was pastor of Rehoboth Christian Center, according to his biography on the NAACP website.

Moore was married and had two children. His family plans to set up a GoFundMe for help.
