Police in San Jose attempted to negotiate with a person who barricaded himself in a home after a shooting was reported Monday evening just after 6 p.m.
Police responded to a home in the 300 block of North 20th Street after receiving reports of shots fired from the home. Police say the suspect barricaded himself inside and refused to come out.
A message from police at 7.52pm asked the public to avoid the area, with police describing the scene as “very active”.
Special operations personnel were called to the scene to try to negotiate a peaceful surrender, police said.
