A resident of Sayre, Pennsylvania was identified as the victim of a fatal car/tractor-trailer crash early Tuesday morning in the town of Owego.
Ian M. Mockler, 19, was the driver of a vehicle that collided with a parked tractor-trailer, according to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
The collision occurred around 1:14 a.m. in the westbound lane of state Route 17, the sheriff’s office said.
The investigation revealed that the tractor-trailer had been pulled over and parked on the shoulder of the roadway when it was struck from behind by Mockler’s vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.
Mockler was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, the sheriff’s office said.
The investigation into the crash continues. The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Apalachin Fire Department, New York State Police and the state Department of Transportation.
