School board candidate Fayette withdraws, endorses former opponent

Gregory Brenner, a data analyst, has withdrawn from the Fayette School Board race in the Third District.

Kathleen “Penny” Christian, Danny Anthony Everett and Isaac Sebourn remain in the race.

“After consultation with my family and many considerations, I am announcing the withdrawal of my candidacy for School Board District 3 in Fayette County and endorsing Isaac Sebourn,” Brenner said. “I have met Isaac and I believe he will provide the necessary accountability, leadership and integrity needed within the school board. Isaac is a devoted husband and father of three children who attend Fayette County public schools.

In the November 5, 2024 election, two other seats on the Fayette school board will be contested in addition to District 3. Betsy Rutherford is running against incumbent Amy Green in District 5. In the 1st District, Monica Mundy is running against incumbent Marilyn Clark.
