Search for the best food truck in Central Mass. down to the final four

The search for the best food truck in Central Massachusetts is getting narrower.

After voting in the week-long Round of 8, readers have halved the list of rolling kitchens, leaving four food trucks in the running.

In the eighth round, more than 8,400 votes were cast. Two times it was a close win.

The results (with original ranking):

Breez Freez (1) defeated Ziggy Bombs (9) and obtained 57% of the 1,584 votes.

Sauced & Tossed Chicken (12) defeated Savage Wraps (4), winning 58% of the 2,485 votes.

Mortar & Pestle (7) defeated Thee Taco Dude (15), getting 50.4% of the 1,745 votes.

Morawski Barbecue (3) defeated Big T’s Jerky House (6), receiving 50.25% of the 2,653 votes.

Voting for the Final Four has begun. Scroll down.

The poll is formatted like the March Madness college basketball brackets. After asking for reader nominations, we came up with an original list of 16, which we then halved to eight and now whittled down to four. The final two will go head-to-head for the title of Best Food Truck in Central Mass.

The poll is based on our previous reader polls on Best Taco Place, Best Chinese Restaurant, Best Breakfast, Best Ice Cream and Best Pizza.

It’s an informal poll, unscientific and intended for entertainment, a departure from the sometimes sharp tone of the Internet.

Final Four round:

Breez Freez (1) vs. Sauce & Tossed (12)

Breeze Freeze, Spencer

Seasoned and spiced chicken, Charlton

Mortar and Pestle (7) vs. Morawski Grill (3)

Mortar and Pestle, West Boylston

Morawski BBQ, Rutland

The next round of voting, featuring the two remaining food trucks, begins on Tuesday, October 1 at 6am.
